Master the Arabic alphabet
The first four letters. Learn Alif (non-connecting) and the Ba/Ta/Tha family.
Three similar-shaped letters distinguished by dots. All connect on both sides.
Four non-connecting letters. They only join to the letter before them.
The tooth letters. Sin has three teeth, Shin adds three dots above.
Emphatic letters. Dad is unique to Arabic — known as the 'letter of Arabic'.
Emphatic pair. Taa is emphatic T, Dhaa adds a dot above.
Ayn has a unique guttural sound. Ghayn adds a dot above. Both connect on both sides.
Similar shapes — Fa has one dot above, Qaf has two. Both connect on both sides.
Two connecting letters. Lam forms a special ligature with Alif (لا).
Two common letters. Both connect on both sides. Nun has one dot above.
The final three. Haa changes shape dramatically by position. Waw doesn't connect forward.
