Damma

Damma is the short vowel mark that produces a 'u' sound after the letter it sits above. Together with fatha and kasra, it completes the three short vowels of Arabic.

A short 'u' sound, like the 'u' in "put". Written as a small loop resembling a miniature waw above the letter.
